’FASHION IN…MUSIC’. A NIGHT WITH THE HOXTON, HOLBORN

Three Floor hosted the first of a series of inspirational fashion talks, Fashion in Residence, on Monday evening held at The exclusive apartment space at The Hoxton, Holborn.

Guests had the opportunity to question the panel made up of emerging singer/songwriter and You Tube sensation, Shannon Saunders; music and celebrity fashion stylist Aimee Croysdill and cultural commentator, Fiona Cartledge (Sign of the Times).

The theme of the evening was ‘What comes first the fashion or the music?’ Our presenter, stylist Rebekah Roy started her interview introducing Fiona, who captivated the audience with her extensive experience of eighties and nineties club culture, and was interesting to hear particularly about her shop ‘Sign of the Times’ – a venture that moved from Camden market stall, to Kensington and finally a shop in Covent Garden where her creations were picked up by Isabella Blow, Steven Meisel and Vogue. Cartledge dressed the DJs, promoters and clubbers who worshipped the scene at that time.

Aimee was the next panelist to be interviewed. Aimee spoke about her amazing work that ranges from personal styling for award-winning actors, top charting music artists to fashion editorials in high-end publications such as Hunger, The Sunday Times Style Magazine, and Dazed Digital. Aimee spoke about how she works with musicians and artists as a creative consultant developing unique looks discussing what comes first the fashion or the music? She talked through the process of working with her clients such as Clean Bandit, Laura Mvula, The Noisettes, EVE and Neon Jungle.

Shannon Saunders was the last, but certainly not the least to speak. She talked us through her evolving and growing career in music. After spending six years learning and honing her craft; Shannon explained how she made a name for herself to build an envious following via social media, predominantly You Tube, where she now she has over 61,500 followers and around 2 million total upload views. The evening’s proceedings was brought to a close with a live, intimate striped back live set from Shannon herself and a chance to see the upcoming Three Floor Pre-Fall collection in the pop-up showroom, enjoyed by all with a glass of Cava in hand courtesy of Anna de Codorniu and a goody bag of treats to take home!
